Mesa/Boogie Throttle Box EQ distortion / overdrive pedal in black finish, handbuilt in Petaluma, California, USA.This is the expanded EQ version of Mesa’s Throttle Box pedal, combining high-gain distortion, overdrive, footswitchable HI/LO gain operation, boost functionality, mid-cut shaping, and Mesa’s classic 5-band graphic EQ in one compact pedal. It is designed for everything from tight rock crunch and heavy rhythm tones to saturated lead sounds, modern metal gain, and sculpted Mesa-style high-gain distortion.I bought this pedal new and have never used it since purchase. It has been kept in its original box and is still shown inside the protective plastic bag in the photos. The pedal remains boxed with original packaging as shown. Box has minor storage wear; pedal itself presents as unused.The control layout gives much more tone-shaping range than a standard drive pedal. The pedal includes Lo Level, Hi Level, Tone, Gain, Boost, Mid Cut, 5-band EQ sliders, HI/LO footswitch, and bypass footswitch. The HI/LO switching allows two different gain/level settings, useful for rhythm and lead sounds or lower-gain and higher-gain operation. The 5-band EQ gives detailed post-drive shaping, from tight mid-focused drive to scooped modern high-gain tones.This is a strong pedal for rock, hard rock, metal, modern high-gain rhythm, lead boost, amp-like distortion, and Mesa-style saturated drive tones.
