John Scofield is regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in the contemporary jazz scene. With an immediately recognizable style, he has successfully fused jazz, blues, funk, and fusion into a personal language, collaborating with artists such as Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, Medeski Martin & Wood, and many others. The Ibanez JSM100 John Scofield Signature model is the result of the long collaboration between the American musician and Ibanez, developed with the aim of creating an instrument that faithfully reflects the artistic needs of the guitarist. Based on the historic AS200, the JSM100 evolves the design by introducing specific customizations requested directly by Scofield, while maintaining the sonic character that has accompanied his career on stages and in recording studios around the world.
The body, made of anigre, provides a balanced, warm, and defined tone, while the mahogany neck, glued to the body and featuring the JSM profile, is designed to offer high ergonomics, promoting precise, fluid, and comfortable playability.
The ebony fingerboard is equipped with 22 jumbo frets, ensuring great smoothness and accuracy during performance, while the elegant acrylic inlays and binding complete a refined aesthetic, perfectly in line with the tradition of the Japanese brand.
The electronics consist of a pair of Super 58 Custom pickups, designed to deliver a warm, detailed tone rich in harmonics. Their high dynamic sensitivity allows for the enhancement of every nuance of performance, accurately reproducing both clean sounds and more driven tones.
