In 1961 the Gibson's production created an entirely new design, the model known today as the SG, or Solid Guitar.The Gibson SG Standard '61 maintains the style of the original with a slim, tapered mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard, the mahogany body, equipped with two Burstbuckers '61 that provide a classic open tone with extra power and presence. This Gibson SG is relatively lightweight and very pleasant to play, especially due to the flexible string tension.
