This is an incredible compressor that has oodles of character - FMR calls it "vintage-y", and they're pretty much spot on with that description. With two modes of compression ("regular" and "thick") this isn't exactly a transparent compressor, but it sounds amazing.
Most of the time, I use it for vocals and snare, but throw it on kick, bass, room mics... this thing'll sound great on it. Has a linkable mode for stereo operation (in case you have two, which I do, until I sell this unit). Can get into Distressor-ish territory... I had a Distressor as well, but I just kept going back to this box instead. It just gets hairy in such a satisfying way. It uses some cool, unique analog tech to achieve it's sonic capabilities... it's been discontinued for a while now, and, as of typing this, is not available new or used anywhere I can see.
The manual can still be acquired through the company's website here, though: I'm only selling this because I have another one, and I don't really need two at this point. But I will keep one of these forever - I honestly think it's one of the best sounding compressors ever made.
There's a half-decent video here that gives a bit of insight into how it works/sounds, which I've linked to in the listing.
In perfect working order, and in very good condition - though there is a wee bit of rack rash on the top and some adhesive residue on the bottom. Includes power supply.
