Up for sale is a fully serviced good condition Tascam MS-16 1" 16 track reel to reel tape deck. It runs at 15 IPS and is a great deck to make analog demos with. Tons of these were sold to home and pro studios, and many are still in service. Built better than Fostex decks, with direct drive motors, these Tascams last forever.

We picked this deck up recently out of Philadelphia, where it was no longer being used in a home studio.

As with every RTR deck out there, it needed a thorough servicing.

We did the following work:

-replaced all VU meter bulbs

-replaced the 32 record/play relays on all audio cards

-replaced the pinch roller

-replaced the filter caps and the 'play' light on the autolocator.

-did a full calibration with MRL calibration tapes, and set to RTM 911 tape.

-test run the deck on all channels for 10 hours to ensure long life.

The heads are in great shape, and are low wear.

The deck is flat to 23Khz on all channels.

-32 channels of 12' XLR to 1/4 phone TRS snakes, for all 16 inputs and outputs to your mixing board.

We ship North America-wide, and the pricing includes the tariff and customs broker charges. For Canadian clients, we will reduce the price a bit, as there's no tariff charges in Canada.

The deck needs to be crated and palletized, and shipped via truck. The cost of a Uline wood crate is around $320, and shipping can be $350-500, depending on where in North America it's being shipped to.

The channel track selector used to live above the meters, but was pulled out by the last owner to fit on the stand as shown. The last owner made a thin sheet metal cover for the resulting gap in the rack, and that's why it's rippled, the metal is super thin.
