This is a like-new 1956 "MVP" (Master Vintage Player) Stratocaster that was a custom dealer order for Make'n Music in Northfield, IL. I bought it brand new and have owned it for less than a year. It has been lightly played at home and is in excellent/mint condition.
This specific build blends vintage '50s specs/aesthetics with some modern upgrades. The natural NOS satin oil finish combined with the roasted neck makes for one of the fastest-feeling, most resonant Strats you'll ever play - enjoy a maple neck without the feeling of sticky lacquer!
Special features of this guitar:
- Premium woods: A beautiful, lightweight 2-piece swamp ash body and roasted quartersawn maple neck (the ultimate in neck stability)
- Lightweight: 7.4 lbs
- Finish: Relic hardware with a NOS/new natural satin oil finish on the body and neck
- Pickups: Handwound Fender Custom Shop "Master Design LTD" pickups designed by John Cruz - a fat, meaty, versatile 60s-style pickup set that perfectly balances the swamp ash/maple wood combo. RWRP middle pickup for hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4.
- Electronics: An S-1 switch in the volume knob that when pressed, enables the NECK + BRIDGE pickup position, like on a tele. Master volume and two tone controls - neck and bridge
- Custom neck profile: Custom shop 10/56 "V" neck profile, with 0.02" shaved off for a bit more comfort (final dimensions - 0.860"/0.960")
- Modern playability: 1-11/16" nut width, 6105 narrow-tall frets, truss rod adjustment at the headstock
- Factory HSH routing: in case you'd like to drop humbuckers in later
