John David Scott mini-OM_[OO] | Serial No. JDS #09-07 | Wenge / Sitka | Nitrocellulose

Up for sale is my John David Scott mini-OM , essentially a OO size OM , with a solid Wenge back and sides and a solid Sitka Spruce top with a beautiful rich golden hued aging toner. This build is a smaller and handsome aesthetic!

This guitar is all Acoustic.

My sales are very controlled by myself only as I am a private seller and not a store shop, so if the guitar is up for sale on Reverb then it is available for purchase; the guitar shipped to you will be exactly the one in the advertisement pictures. Once I list a guitar for sale on reverb it is not used or touched again unless there is a seller's reason to do so.

All solid woods on this instrument. John David Scott [JDS] has all the build inspiration of Larrivée Guitars with a Custom uniqueness with each build.

The headstock logo is quite cool on a contrasting piece of oval shaped veneer and appears to be like a hot iron branded script lettering finely painted white into an oval shaped piece of maple burl.

I give this guitar two thumbs up for it's very powerful 'tone to the bone' acoustic , possibly due to it's slightly longer than usual scale length , and wonderful looking stiff Sitka top ; the resonance of this guitar will easily challenge a larger body instrument ; And build aesthetic is similar to Larrivée and an all Canadian build quality. I play only fingerstyle guitar and this one has a really solid great feel and tone to it.

This guitar would make for a really great baritenor string instrument with it's darker rich senorous tone , if that is your relaxed vocal range (like it is mine) ; I do regularly tune most of my guitars ½ step down to E-flat , i have 12-53 strings on it ; this guitar can easily accommodate an E-flat or D-d tunings with standard 12-54 strings on it , or

D'Addario Acoustic Guitar Strings, XS Phosphor Bronze Coated, XSAPB12554, Light Plus Gauge 12.5-54 , makes for a really great set for C-c tuning.

I am the original owner of this guitar several years now [which I had purchased direct from David Amirault at JDS Guitars shop] ; however it has little play time on it - my reason for selling is to thin the herd.

I'm a man-cave player , so this beautiful mini-OM has never been out of my home , and unless played , it's in the case , in my temp/humidity controlled environment.

It is in Excellent to Mint condition, no scratches, no dings, and may find only the faintest micro swirling - just 'cause that's the way i keep all my instruments. I am going to rate this 'Excellent' condition only because it is aged well [not because of any noticeable flaw]

Using digital calipers the nut width is 1" &3/4" and string spacing at the saddle is 2" &3/16" outside to outside on the E strings. Scale length 25" &5/8"

Upper body depth at the neck = 3" &3/4"

I would describe the neck as a very fast low oval or C shape great for flat picking and this fast guitar neck is also perfect for electric guitar player ; however fingerstyle which is what I play ; It is also a very smooth high gloss nitrocellulose finish.

As for the radius I give it a 12 inch , I don't have the instrument to measure this exactly , but I've owned many guitars and this neck radius is quite normal , not too rounded nor too flat.

It also comes with a Larrivee HS case with crushed blue velvet interior and orange case stitching ; i bought this separately new for this guitar and the fit is perfect ; comes with two lock keys ; and JSD also supplied a high grade curved clear rubber coated allen key for the truss rod tool.

The guitar will be in the exact condition i have advertised it and all the pics are taken the same day this adv. was posted.

My asking price is set reasonable , therefore i will not consider a best offer at this time with the price reduction , which is already several points better than reasonably good.

If you are within Canada I can work out an exact shipping rate with liability coverage via Canada Postal service (is the only carrier i personally will deal with as i have a business account) ; [I will only do an estimate if the interest is serious about the purchase and will pay the shipping via an e-transfer exact amount , so you won't get dinged another set of sales taxes on Reverb , and I won't get dinged the reverb fee atop all that!]

This guitar is available for Local Pick-up in the Greater Toronto Area ; Meeting will need to be arranged at a pre-agreed area inside of a major mall within the GTA only.

Local Pick-up will require a $300 deposit fee paid in advance via an e-transfer prior to meeting ; this will help ensure a commitment to complete the purchase ; the full amount deposit fee will be deducted from the listed selling price in the final payment.

Reverb is an On-line sales platform ; some have gotten the wrong idea that meeting is to have an opportunity to "try" the guitar to make a decision whether to purchase ; not so ; the only reason for meeting is to complete the transaction at the advertised sale price , also no re-negotiating the price ; and to give the buyer an opportunity to pay only for the guitar list price yet excluding the shipping cost and the obligatory platform sales taxes.
