The Tascam 122 MKIII is considered the reference for cassette tape deck in the height of that technology in recording studio, before CDs came along. Features three-head design, balanced and unbalanced audio inputs and outputs, plus pitch control. Multiple noise-reduction system (Dolby B, C, HX Pro). Locate points functions and repeat, digital tape counter, large VU meters with peak LED and more.
This unit was in our studio and has been gathering dust since we removed it from service. It just came out of service for a complete overall. Among the thing done, the c gear and idler wheel were replace with new parts, all electrolytic capacitors plus a film capacitor in the capstan drive were replaced as well. Some circuit board trace were reconditioned where attacked by old capacitor acid leaks. Bearing lubricated, pinch roller revitalized. Cleaned and demagnetized, then a complete mechanical and audio alignment and speed calibration.
No noisy pot, all lights are good... This is ready for a second life!
