TEAC A-3340S 4-Track Reel-to-Reel Recorder – Mid-1970s – Working / Powers On
Classic TEAC A-3340S Simul-Sync 4-track reel-to-reel recorder from the mid-1970s.
One of the iconic semi-pro multitrack machines of the era and a huge part of early home studio recording history. These were used by musicians and studios alike for analog overdubbing long before cassette Portastudios became common.
Unit powers on properly and all 4 VU meters illuminate. Transport functions engage and the machine presents very well cosmetically for its age. Includes metal reels and Ampex tape as shown.
Cosmetic condition is very good overall:
- Clean brushed aluminum faceplate
- Original wood side panels
- Original transport buttons and knobs
- All meter lamps working
- Minimal wear considering age
Known details:
- Model: TEAC A-3340S
- 4-track / 4-channel reel-to-reel
- Simul-Sync capability
- Made in Japan
- 117V North American unit
This is being sold as vintage audio equipment. Due to age, it may benefit from servicing/calibration depending on intended use. I have not professionally tested or calibrated all recording/playback functions.
A fantastic piece for:
- Analog recording
- Vintage studio setups
- Tape enthusiasts
- Collectors
- Studio decor / conversation piece
Local pickup preferred due to size and weight, but shipping can be discussed.
