In absolutely beautiful condition, this 1942/43 (Phase 3), vintage sax is very comparable to Martin's professional saxes of the time. In the early 1940's, Martin manufactured the "Indiana" as its second-line instruments, but still used the same designs, tooling, materials, and workmanship as their professional models, the Imperial, Standard, and Committee I & II. The keywork may differ slightly between them, but the dark, rich, warm sound of a Martin tenor is unmistakable. If you want a professional, smokey-sounding jazz horn, without a professional price tag, this is the one for you!
