Description
The Roland Juno-60 is a legendary 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer released in 1982, renowned for its warm, fat sound, stable DCOs (digitally controlled oscillators), and iconic lush analog chorus. It was a staple of 1980s pop and synth-wave, used by artists like Enya and The Cure. The 61-key synth is favored for its "sweet spot" sound, and it is a coveted, high-value vintage instrument.
Key Features & Characteristics
- Sound Engine: Single DCO per voice, allowing for extremely stable tuning compared to pure VCO synths.
- Voice Structure: One DCO (sawtooth/pulse with PWM) + Sub-oscillator + Noise generator, passed through a resonant 24dB/oct low-pass filter (VCF) and a high-pass filter.
- Chorus: Renowned, 2-mode analog chorus (plus a hidden "III" mode) that adds immense width and depth.
- Patch Memory: Unlike its predecessor, the Juno-6, the Juno-60 holds 56 patches.
- Arpeggiator: Features an onboard arpeggiator with range and rate controls.
Condition
Used, but well maintained and tested as fully functional. Only a small amount of chipping to the side wood panels as shown in the photographs and a small bit of paint on the cable (which is also in excellent condition). The item does not come with a case and is the instrument only.
