The Strata Prime is an uncompromising electronic drum kit. Every detail has been designed to deliver a responsive and natural playing experience. The fully mesh heads feature adjustable tension; the 360-degree cymbals move freely and respond like acoustic cymbals; and the hi-hat offers laser precision while playing naturally with any hi-hat stand or technique. Together, they create the kind of expressive feel you would expect from a meticulously crafted instrument. Beneath the surface lies a truly cutting-edge sound engine, delivering a vast and detailed library of beautifully recorded drum kits.

The Prime Drum Module is undoubtedly the most technologically advanced drum module ever created.

Touchscreen

The sound experience is powered by the legendary BFD drum engine and controlled via a 10.1-inch touchscreen, offering intuitive navigation, editing, kit mixing, and studio-quality sound processing—previously only available on high-powered desktop computers.

Adjust with ease

The touchscreen puts every parameter at your fingertips, allowing you to call up and adjust every component of your kit, sounds, effects, and utilities effortlessly. It also features six rotary encoders for fast navigation and precise control, along with a main push encoder, transport controls, and dedicated volume knobs for main, headphone, and auxiliary outputs.

Multicore processor

Under the hood is a powerful multicore processor that loads massive multi-sampled kits in seconds and gives you instant creative freedom to customize your kits, articulations, microphones, and effects. The all-new trigger engine is fully customizable. While the Strata Prime is incredibly playable right out of the box, there are multiple tools available to fine-tune the kit to your preferences, including instant crosstalk calibration.

40 PLAYABLE ZONES

The Strata Prime features 40 playable zones, and uniquely, each trigger zone can be assigned multiple sounds: one main sound plus up to three additional “Stacks” per zone. You can layer sounds or create completely unique combinations—for example, adding a woodblock and a bell to your snare rim.

PERFECTLY SAMPLED SOUNDS

The multicore processor runs the legendary BFD sound engine, featuring a massive library of meticulously sampled drum kits recorded by top engineers in world-class studios. With over 40 GB of content—75 kits, 440+ kit pieces, 1,000+ articulations, and more than 215,000 individual samples—you can create your own mixes and apply effects to kit pieces, groups, and even individual microphones.

FOUR INCLUDED SOUND LIBRARIES

In addition to the 75 factory kits, the Strata Prime includes four sound libraries:

• Alesis Prime Acoustic – a massive collection recorded at Powerstation Studios in New England
• BFD Dark Farm – a fully acoustic metal-oriented expansion pack from the BFD team
• Alesis Prime Electronic – a collection of one-shot electronic drum sounds from the Alesis Strike Multipad, ideal for layering
• BFD Percussion – a diverse selection of percussion sounds from classic BFD expansion packs

DRUMS

The Strata Prime includes six drums with fully mesh heads, starting with a 14" dual-zone snare featuring independent triggering for the head, rim click, and rimshot. It is followed by 8", 10", 12", and 14" toms, and a 20" kick drum that provides a comfortable playing surface while supporting all types of single and double kick pedals.

All six mesh heads have adjustable tension, allowing you to fine-tune rebound and expressiveness to your exact preference. Artificial “hot spots” are eliminated thanks to Alesis’ unique patented anti-hotspot sensor design.

CYMBALS

The Strata Prime’s ARC cymbals are অত্যremely sensitive and feature a beautifully lathed surface. The three cymbals—a 18" ride and two 16" crashes—are triple-zone, with different sounds triggered from the bell, bow, and edge.

All cymbals are 360-degree responsive, allowing you to play anywhere on the surface. They are mounted on standard acoustic boom stands, enabling natural movement and swing without restriction. The crash and ride cymbals feature dual-edge sensors and specially designed profiles that provide incredible expressiveness without requiring any change in playing technique.

PRECISION HI-HAT

The 14-inch hi-hat is the world’s first active magnetic stand-mounted controller.

Like the cymbals, it features a highly responsive 360-degree, triple-zone playing surface. Magnetic position sensing ensures pedal movements are translated with extremely high resolution, making this contactless controller unmatched in precision.

The unit works with a wide variety of hi-hat stands and playing techniques. Its active technology is powered directly by the Prime Drum Module—no additional power supply required.
