The 1960 Gibson EB-6 is an extremely rare, semi-hollow 6-string bass, with only 34 units produced in its debut year. It features an ES-335 style body, a 30.5" scale length, a 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗔𝗙 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿, and a sunburst finish. These instruments were designed for "tic-tac" bass sounds, featuring a thick '59 neck profile.

Production Rarity: 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟲𝟳 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 units were produced between 1960 and 1961 before the design shifted to an SG-style solid body in 1962.

Design & Body: The 1960 model features a laminated maple semi-hollow body with f-holes, similar to an ES-335.


Electronics: Equipped with a single PAF humbucker, a tone selector switch, and volume/tone controls.


Neck & Scale: 30.5-inch scale length with a one-piece mahogany neck.

Hardware: Features a chrome palm rest, which is often missing on surviving models.


Original Purpose: Designed to compete with the Fender Bass VI for studio "tic-tac" bass parts.
