This 16 bit converter was used in AMS, Roland, and many other types of digital pro audio gear but was discontinued many years ago. Notably, it is the DAC used in the Eventide H3000.
Burr Brown made two basic versions of this IC: The JP-V is a voltage output type, and the JP-I is a current output type. These types are NOT interchangeable.
There are two variations of the PCM53 voltage type -- the PCM53JP-V and the PCM53JG-V. The difference is that the JP-V has a summing junction that is brought out to pin 21. This part in this listing can be used to replace the PCM53JP-V or the PCM53JG-V.
