The Mellotron Micro Module is the most compact version of the Digital Mellotron, incorporating many of the same features as the Micro. It comes preloaded with one hundred 24-bit uncompressed sounds, sourced from the original first-generation Mellotron and Chamberlin tape libraries. Its built-in library, Sound Card 01, is the same as that used in both the Micro and M4000D series instruments.
NOTE: expansion cards are NOT compatible with Mellotron Micro Module or Mellotron Micro
Essentially, the Micro Module is a Mellotron Micro without the keyboard. The key differences are:
- Octave/High-Low switch: On the Micro, this is an octave switch for the keyboard, whereas on the Micro Module it is a High/Low switch. This can lower playback speed by one or two octaves.
- MIDI connections: Uses 3.5 mm jacks instead of 5-pin DIN. (Note: the “B” standard applies to the 3.5 mm jacks.)
- MIDI features: Supports both MIDI mono aftertouch and polyphonic aftertouch.
- MIDI out: Not available on the Micro Module.
- Storage: Cannot be expanded with CF cards; instead, it uses Micro SD storage.
The Module is supplied with a power supply, mains cable, and a 3.5 mm to 5-pin male type “B” MIDI cable.
