Here comes a real vintage gem: an Ibanez Concord 754 Jumbo acoustic guitar from 1976, a handcrafted in Japan lawsuit Gibson SJ-180 replica, with a voluminous flat top jumbo design, well-played spruce top, warm-sounding mahogany body, set-in mahogany neck with “C”-shaped neck profile and 42.9mm nut width, bound rosewood fingerboard with elaborate pearloid star inlays, black face open book mahogany headstock with pearloid star logo inlay, sealed tulip button chrome tuners, and adjustable ebonized rosewood bridge in an authentically aged sunburst high-gloss finish with double black pickguard in excellent condition, including new GEWA hard case and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.

This is a rare Gibson replica by Ibanez from the second half of the 1970s, a time when detailed replicas of American originals were not yet subject to legal action (“lawsuit era”). It was a time when Japanese guitar making was experiencing a veritable golden age and the high Japanese standards in instrument craftsmanship achieved worldwide renown. Indeed, some replicas were in no way inferior to their originals, and in some cases even surpassed them, leaving US companies with no choice but to take legal action.

This Ibanez Concord 754 is a flat top jumbo variant modeled after Gibson's SJ-180 Everly Brothers and is now a real rarity, as it was only manufactured in 1976. The voluminous jumbo body with a beautifully played-in spruce top and mahogany back and sides provides a powerful, warm foundation with bright highs and a distinctive midrange character – ideal for singer-songwriters, strumming, and rhythm accompaniment.

The medium-width C-shaped neck profile, combined with the well-played rosewood fingerboard, offers a comfortable playing feel across the entire scale length. The adjustable ebonized rosewood bridge also allows for flexible adjustment of the string action.

The Concord 754 also makes a visual impression: the radiant sunburst finish, which has developed an authentic vintage patina over the decades, the elaborate pearloid star fingerboard inlays, and the striking double black pickguard in Everly Brothers style give the guitar a distinctive appearance.

The instrument has been handcrafted with incredible attention to detail, which is evident at first glance and can be heard immediately.
