Tascam X48 Digital Audio Workstation with Control & Mixer

The Tascam X48 is a 48 tracks 24/96Khz Hard Disk audio recorder with sync (LTC/MTC) and external control capabilities (P2/RS422). It can be used stand-alone as a playback/recorder device, or with a monitor/keyboard to access the internal GUI running on Embedded Windows for editing and mixing (internal mixer with EQ, compression and VST compatibility (plugins not included).

It is especially useful as a standalone recorder or playback device running off USB/Firewire or internal HDD. It works with Broadcast WAV audio files. It features a "theater" playback mode that can be triggered for cue control (auto-stop) or timecode chase function to follow video or other media. Apart from the recording studio, these are used in cinema, exposition and museums... We used them as live recorders for our mobile truck operations.

The unit incorporate an internal 80gb HDD drive, and it has been modified to replace the factory DVD+RW drive for a SATA slot to insert a standard SATA HD drive... There's a software limitation where a new project cannot be created in the slot drive (only internal or external), but a project can be copied to the slot, and then both recorded to or playback from it...

Apart from all the control ports (MIDI, LTC, RS422, Foot switch and video or word sync) and the computer ports (ethernet, USB, Firewire, VGA and PS/2), the unit boast 48 channels of Digital Tascam (TDIF) connections and a stereo S/PDIF. Included with this unit is the optional 24 channel analogue card (in & out). There's a free slot available for another card. We can replace the analogue card with a 24ch ADAT card. or we can add (extra fee) an additional analogue card...

Unit comes with AC cord, original manual and box. The internal battery (coin-cell CR2032) was changed in July 2023. Unit is tested and fully functional.
