1966 Reissue Fender Jaguar MIJ JG-66B: A Closet Queen
Overview: For sale is a 2009 Fender Jaguar JG-66B '66 reissue, ‘Made in Japan’ and finished in Candy Apple Red. I purchased this guitar from a young musician who, like me, never fully appreciated it. Although largely untouched, this guitar plays and sounds true to its Jaguar heritage standing out with its block inlays, bound fretboard, and exceptional build quality, rivaling many U.S. models.
This Jaguar is a rare find, combining exceptional playability with classic tone, making it a valuable addition for collectors and musicians alike.
Condition:
- Cosmetic: The finish is in excellent condition for 17-years of life with minimal wear.
Minor imperfections include (see photos): a 3mm surface finish crack at the upper neck pocket, a 2mm dent beneath the scratch plate above neck pickup, 5mm body dent at the tremolo plate, 1mm spot at jack plate edge and minor pocking on plated metal components (e.g. trem. plate). - Playing Condition: Action and intonation is very good, the neck is straight. The truss rod functions properly, and all electronics have been tested and are fully operational. Currently strung with fresh 10-52s, this guitar plays and sounds exactly as a Jaguar should: bright and lively, with a sharp attack, short sustain, and a crisp midrange. The tremolo system is fully functional and locking.
