Hiwatt DR20/0.5 'The Hiwatt Little Rig'

This is our new and improved DR20/0.5, hand wired in the Hiwatt Custom Shops; offering increased headroom, lower noise, and an improved input design taken from the amps modified for David Gilmour and Pink Floyd. We’ve also added a few extra features in the form of a Fat/Sparkle switch to add more tonal versatility and an adjustable Voltage Selector, meaning you can safely use the amp worldwide.

The DR20.05 uses the exact same preamp circuit and tonestack found in our flagship DR103 and 504 models, paired with a 20W EL84 power section. This combination offers classic Hiwatt headroom and response while still being able to achieve breakup at recording and club volumes if desired.  The added ability to switch from 20W down to 0.5W allows you to practice backstage or even in your living room - the perfect amp for all settings.

The improved input design is taken from the Pete Cornish modified amplifiers made for Pink Floyd and internally links both Brilliant and Normal channels through what would normally be the High Impedance inputs. This means the preamp sees the full signal from your pickups for maximum clarity and low noise.

Don’t be misled, at 20W this amp is anything but ‘Little’ sounding. Paired with an SE212U speaker cabinet (sold separately), this 'Little' Hiwatt stack makes for a premiere sounding ‘Rig’.

Every DR20/0.5 is proudly handcrafted and built to order for you in our Custom Shop in Doncaster, England. Please allow up to 4 week lead time while your amplifier is being meticulously hand-wired.
