I bought and used this classic MOTU product to primarily access all my ADAT Archives and convert the data to modern DAW format but it still sounds great and just worked when plugged into my Macbook Pro. Comparatively, it lacks the CueMix DSP onboard mixer of its more modern MOTU brethren. The 828 does have a built in mixer that can monitor any analog source via the main outputs. The 828 still has something the newer units like the MOTU UltraLite lack, an ADAT (lightpipe) port. This allows you to connect up to 8 additional inputs directly via the ADAT (lightpipe) port.
Features
Built in power supply
