Alright, take two on this wild beast of an amp. It came to my attention that this has been re tolexed so I pulled the original listing. With that said, it’s still a great vintage Hiwatt DR505 amp.
The DR505 was made for the Canadian market and differs slightly from the standard DR504. The 505 has a lot more access to gain than the 504 if you crank the master volume and use your channel volume for its intended purpose. Or, one could pull back the master volume and use the amp for what it’s famous for which is for having tons of headroom.
Aside from the tolex and I’m told the handle all the important bits are present.
