Featured in this listing is a vintage mint green 1960’s Automatic Electric Type 81 handset. Very similar in design to the Northern Electric G1 handsets but with slight design and component differences. The mic is made from the original earpiece from Automatic Electric and has been rewired using modern components. The handset mic has been wired into the earpiece (not the mouthpiece). Features 5’ (stretches to 15’) of coiled light pink cable terminating in a male XLR connection.

These Automatic Electric Type 81 handsets are nearly 70 years old, as such they will have blemishes, scratches, and other signs of use to the finish. But this only adds to the charm and character of the mic. The photos in the listing are of the actual item you will receive.

These types of mics have a lot of colour and break up in their sound. Be careful when first connecting to amp or PA before increasing input/output levels.
