Selling one Hybrid Top 65 MV and one 65 MDV with a 10 degree angle . The tops have had very little use.
From the Wedge Site
Top 10 Mouthpiece! - Similar to scaled down version of Bach 3C, Bach 7E - Great choice for pit and pops, concert band, and jazz soloing
Highlights:
- One size smaller than the Bach 3C
- Similar in depth to Bach 3C cup
- Medium cup with a modified V shape at bottom of cup leading into throat, providing a slightly darker sound than the 65M
- Works well for piccolo trumpet
- Good orchestral mouthpiece for someone who wants a smaller diameter and a little more projection, or who has a naturally dark sound
More Information:
MV
- Inner Diameter: .650 inches measured .04 inches into the cup
- Outer Diameter: 1.104 inches
- MV - Cup Depth: M (Medium) cup (similar to a Bach 3C, Bach 7E, Schilke or Yamaha B, GR M, Curry M, and Warburton M cup)
- Excellent all round mouthpiece with a very versatile sound
- Suitable for concert band, marching band, and jazz or big band
- Can blend in a chamber group or orchestral setting, especially when used with a heavyweight backbore to darken the sound
- Functions well as a piccolo trumpet mouthpiece
MDV
- Inner Diameter: .650 inches measured .04 inches into the cup
- Outer Diameter: 1.104 inches
- Cup Depth: MDV (Medium Deep V) cup (similar to a Bach 1 1/2 C or 5C, Warburton MD, regular Schilke, or Yamaha C cup, but with a slightly more V shaped transition into the throat)
- Produces a large, dark orchestral sound, which is a little darker than the MD
- Backbore: Best used on an ML (Medium-Large) backbore which can be purchased here
The Wedge Hybrid Design
- The Hybrid solves these issues by combining the best characteristics of both materials.
- A resin rim and cup insert are permanently bonded to a brass base.
- The resin is a medical-grade photopolymer (used in dental crowns) — biocompatible, non-irritating, and non-allergenic.
- It is 65% nano-ceramic, essentially a synthetic bone/tooth material.
- Each insert is 3D-printed with high precision, then hand-polished and fitted for a perfect seal.
- The insert is more impact-resistant than acrylic due to its hardness and solid bonding — Dr. Dave personally drop-tested a Hybrid trumpet top 20 times from 7 feet with no damage.
- After eight months of production, only two mouthpieces (one trumpet, one trombone) have required repair for breakage
