For sale: an absolute classic in the history of effects pedals, the Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Phase Shifter (Version 2), made in the USA (New York City) in the late 1970s.

Based on the date code/number found on the potentiometer, this particular unit appears to have been manufactured in 1978.

100% ORIGINAL & UNMODIFIED. This example is completely original, which is becoming increasingly rare for pedals from this era. It features the legendary “Issue J” circuit, clearly identified by the original marking on the circuit board.

For collectors and vintage pedal enthusiasts, the “Issue J” revision is considered one of the most sought-after versions of the vintage Small Stone. Its analog circuit delivers the liquid, warm, and three-dimensional phasing sound that made the early Small Stone so iconic.

The pedal features the famous brushed aluminum enclosure with the distinctive red and black graphics of the era.

Condition & Operation

Cosmetic condition: 8/10. Shows some signs of use, but is in excellent condition considering its age.. The enclosure is very clean, and the iconic red and black graphics are well preserved and clearly legible.

Please note: Velcro has been applied to the bottom of the pedal. This is part of its current condition, and the pedal is sold as-is, in its current condition.

Electronics: Works perfectly. The Rate potentiometer and Color switch operate properly. The circuit has not been modified. The slight historical volume drop when the effect is engaged is present, which is typical of this vintage, unmodified model.
