Up for sale is a 1963 Ludwig Downbeat. Serial # 3730.
This drum is in Immaculate condition. The Red Sparkle is just as Vibrant as the day it came out of the factory. The Nickel Plating is the same way. Red Baseball Bat Nickel Muffler. Along its life someone changed out the throw off to a modern Piccolo P80. It fits in the Original holes Perfectly. Let’s face it….its a far superior throw off then the original, which can suffer sloppiness to the point of turning off when the snare is struck. Also much easier to install the wires. It has the Original Ludwig Hazy Reso Head & Wires. All Hardware down to the Nickel over Brass Tension Rod Washers is Original. Interior paint is original but shows fading & peeling in spots. Bearing edges are Original and in excellent condition.
