Up for sale is my mint condition Townsend Labs L22 Sphere microphone. I bought it, reviewed it on my YouTube channel (The Time Preservation Society), compared it two other times for two other videos, and then stored it with a newly charged silica pack in its case because I need to constantly be testing new mics daily. i just didn’t have time to enjoy it.
This mic is the single greatest modeling mic ever made. It’s astounding. Choose from dozens of high-end and vintage mics, account for your acoustic space and make adjustments, decide from every polar pattern imaginable, and much more.
The coolest part is that the microphone sounds insane just as is — without any modeling at all.
This is the original Townsend Labs version, before Universal Audio bought the company and changed it to the DLX Sphere.
One day soon, I predict this mic will be a classic of the modern world.
Selling only to pay for a camera I need. Otherwise, it would stay with me forever.
