About this listing
A perfect example of a mid 1980s Fender made in Japan Paisley Strat. These high quality mid 80s MIJ models were a benchmark for Fender at the time. The following year, CBS sold the brand for nearly nothing. Less than they'd paid in the 60s. Crazy. In modern parlance "if you know, you know".Easy to play with a lightweight body and a comfortable, wide but slim profile maple neck for all musical styles and hand sizes.Pickups sound like a classic vintage Strat. This guitar is made for creating melodies.Original hardware and electronics in lovely condition and the Paisley factory finish remains perfectly intact after 40 years. In a certain light you can see a slightly orange metallic hue, like a candy apple vibe. Trem system very stable and responsive. Original frets in great shape. Gotoh tuners fitted as standard. Electronics function perfectly with no noise from the pickup controls. Not just a Strat in a fancy finish; an inspiring instrument from Fender Japan at a time when they had something to prove and Fender USA were struggling to produce anything. Surely a future collectable?Anyway, plug it into a tube amp and hear the pure chimey bell-like signature Strat tones. No pedals required. This 1985 model is superior to the "crafted in Japan" 90s/turn of the century reissues (according to what I've read). This example has all original factory parts and the wiring harness is USA built. Very clean condition and comes with original tweed hardshell case. Cool vibe. Peace out and Sayonara.
