The distinctive Kokopelli inlay on the headstock is inspired by the traditional figure found

in the art of the Hopi people of Arizona.

Kokopelli is regarded as a symbol of abundance, prosperity, and safe travels,

reflecting the spirit behind Nishigai's work.

Guided by the philosophy, "The pride of owning, the joy of playing," and

drawing on the instrument-making skills he acquired while studying in Arizona,

Nishigai has adopted Kokopelli as the emblem of Mugendo,
