Selling my vintage Mesa Studio Preamp (Serial SP3338). If you know what this is, you already know it’s the same preamp Kurt Cobain used all over Nevermind and on tour. I bought it for that reason but it is a versatile bit of gear, doing everything from pristine, glassy cleans that love pedals to Mark-series high gain.

Fitted with 240V wall plug for Australia.

I bought this from a seller in Melbourne back in 2018 and gigged with it a handful of times and loved the sound. i ended up simplifying things back to a combo amp so this has sat safely in my wardrobe since 2019.

Works fine, tubes appear to be healthy, all the switches and pots do what they should, and the 5-band EQ works as expected. I am selling this unit AS IS

• The Reverb: The onboard spring reverb tank doesn't work. It was dead when I bought it in 2018. I just used my own delay/reverb pedals anyway so I never bothered fixing it.
• The Cosmetics: It’s a vintage piece, so expect some normal wear. Note that one of the rack mount ears is slightly bent (check the photos). It still mounts into a rack just fine, but want to be upfront about it.
• Servicing: It was serviced by the previous owner but I did not have it inspected or serviced. prior to listing I tested its functionality to ensure it works.
