About This Model

The Alesis 3630 is a dual-channel dynamics processor housed in a 1U rack chassis, combining a compressor/limiter and a noise gate in each of its two independent channels. Each compressor channel offers fully variable Ratio, Threshold, Attack, and Decay/Release controls, with selectable Peak or RMS detection and switchable Hard or Soft knee curves for precise dynamic shaping. The independent gates feature their own Threshold and Rate controls, making it straightforward to clean up noise between takes or tighten up transients. A stereo link switch straps both channels together for tracked gain changes on stereo material, and a sidechain insert on each channel opens up keying, ducking, and de-essing applications. Signal level operation is switchable between +4 dBu and -10 dBV, covering both professional and consumer gear. Metering is comprehensive, with a 12-LED gain reduction display, a 12-LED input/output level display, and Gate open/close LEDs on each channel.
