Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a 1970's era AKG model D330BT dynamic hyper cardioid microphone made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with most great dynamic cardioid microphones you could possibly think of from that era and even today. I would actually compare the sound to be on par with (or better than) an American made Shure SM58 or as good as an Electro voice RE16 microphone. If you have never heard one of these before...be prepared to be blown away by the warm smooth tone.

This mic comes with the AKG mic clip shown.

The D330BT was called "The SM58 Killer" by many as the mic was specifically designed to outperform the American SM58 on every level and did just that. It was about as good a handheld mic as you could buy back then and even puts most mics to shame even today.

Pic # 2 is from an old AKG catalog showing this model in a couple different variants. The D330BT had a few more built in adjustments than the D320B though both utilized the exact same elements. The D320B has the adjustable bass drop off switch with 3 selections to choose from as where the D330BT had the bass drop off switch and the presence switch. Both on this mic work perfectly.

Pic # 3 shows the band ABBA using these while performing live in concert.

Pic # 4 shows this model being used by Tears For Fears while performing live back in the 1980's.

This is the only example I currently have and haven't had another in about 3 months now.

This D330BT just needs a standard XLR cable to operate. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached.

As you can see there is just very lite wear on the stock gold / silver metal finish of this mic but it's free of any dents or fractures. There was tape on the handle that had been on there for many years. I had to remove it and while completely clean now there was discoloration caused by that tape from contact with the metal. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The front screen is metal and has a very modern look. There is no tarnish or dents on the front screen.   The inner pop filter is original. It's silk and in excellent condition. Again, this mic comes with a bass roll off switch on the handle as seen in pic # 10. Before buying a D330BT or D320B make sure that these adapter switches work like they should otherwise the mic just won't do it's job.

The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out any background noise. Again...a superb mic for any live performance and worth every penny.

The mic comes with a stock AKG mic clip that works very well for this mic and looks very good with just typical lite wear. The clip grips the mic perfectly and really compliments the look of the mic. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand and has a wide range of tilt up or down.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

Overall I would rate this mic a conservative 8 cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces and I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got decades of life left in her.

As with all my vintage microphone and related items...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and the item will be immediately relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
