Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique 1980's era Electro Voice PL6 model dynamic cardioid microphone with Low Impedance setting and perfect for singing as well as broadcasting as the PL6 was intended. The PL6 was actually a newer but identical version of the 660 model. More on that in a moment. This quality mic comes with the original E.V mic clip shown as well as the case in which to store.

Pic # 2 shows this very model as well as others in an older E.V catalog I have along with it's basic characteristics.

This is a very high quality E.V product. A very underrated mic with a smooth, warm tone that's very pleasing to the ear. The technology that went into this model was top of the line. To this day I have never had an E.V 660 or PL6 returned. Simply one of the best mics of it's time.

The E.V 660 was originally introduced in the early to mid 1970's I believe and was sold in a satin chrome finish. E.V eventually offered the 660 in a olive drab painted scheme to reduce light glare but at some point E.V completely changed the model number of the 660 to the PL6. I'm not sure why they did this but the "PL" stood for Professional Line as it was certainly a studio quality mic. The materials used and quality control were top notch and these mics were quite expensive as well.

If you have never heard one of these older mics before you will be very impressed with the sound. It has an excellent frequency response. Just slightly less bass than a Shure SM58. A lovely smooth warm tone. This American made microphone was very rugged and built like a tank. Lite weight making it easy to hold for prolonged periods. The materials used and quality control were top notch and these mics were quite expensive as well.

This PL6 has a strong signal too. 100% output.  The cardioid element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well. The olive drab and black color combo give this mic a bit more menacing look.

As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in very nice overall cosmetic condition. The original painted finish is free of deep scratches, dents, fractures or pitting but there is some very lite scuff marks on the stock painted handle. The E.V label is perfect and completely legible. The mesh grill has no deformation, odors or dents and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone.

The mic itself is an easy 9 cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10 and again, sounds absolutely golden.

Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well as it was quite filthy. She's good to go. Just needs a standard XLR cable to operate.

The PL6 comes with the E.V 358 model mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks great with just lite wear in the form of scratches on the sides. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have.

The vintage plastic mic case is included. It's a very attractive, durable, lite weight design that has new foam inner pads keeping the mic safe and snug while not in actual use. It has a very cool midcentury design and the case stays closed via a locking mechanism and has the practical small carrying handle. A very cool accessory to keep the mic from being damaged.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my other vintage microphones...
