Punchy attack and a solid, well-defined sound
White Ash was widely used for Fender guitars until the mid-1950s, prized for its strong attack and rapid note response. Because it is a relatively hard wood that is difficult to work with, it has seen less use in musical instruments in recent years. However, it is a material that offers an excellent balance of hardness and elasticity—qualities that make it ideal for items like baseball bats.
To infuse this Ash with a "matured" (or "aged") character, the shell combines two types of Poplar and is finished using Canopus's proprietary bearing edge technology. The resulting sound is dry with short sustain and a taut low end; it delivers a "vintage-style" tone—dry and articulate—so authentic that it feels as though the drums have been played for years.
Additionally, while the wood is dense and hard, it features large pores, creating a beautiful, striking wood grain when stained.
As this is a pre-owned item, there are some minor scratches and signs of use, but no significant damage. It is in excellent condition.
