Hand Hammered Meinl Byzance 18” Dark Crash in terrific condition!
The craftsmanship is stunning! Deep, Heavy Hand Hammering with an unlathed, dark golden brushed finish! Raw appearance with an earthen tone. DARK and drier sounding but still with that famous Hand Hammered complexity.
Meinl described this 18” as:
“Dark in a low frequency range, and esoteric character caused by the untreated finish. Earthy with a strong attack and a short sustain.”
1374 grams makes in on the thinner side but it has no problem cutting.
Dark. Semi-dry attack with a full Hand Hammered complexity. Broad dynamic range. Strong bell - even for a crash. Very organic, earthen tone.
Unlathed, heavily hand hammered and raw.
Fantastic shape. No issues. Light patina naturally built up over a beautiful raw, sienna hue.
