Up for sale, a 2024 Sola Sound “The Griffin” Hybrid MK1 Tone Bender in near-mint condition, complete with the original box and paperwork. Loosely based on the Phoenix MK1 and limited to 36 units, this limited run fuzz was, offered exclusively by Macari’s in the UK.
Crafted by master pedal builder David Main of D*A*M Stompboxes in South Yorkshire, this Griffin Hybrid MK1 is the highest gain MK1 ever produced by Sola Sound. The vintage BC179 silicon transistors are carefully sourced from thousands of potential candidates, with very few making the cut, fastened to a Dick Denney-style circuit board and fed through a pair of CTS and Bourns pots.
There is a single scratch on the righthand side of the enclosure, and the graphics are pristine. The interior of the baseplate is signed by David Main, and the exterior is hand-numbered #028. The sticker inside the compartment is dated 22/07/24.
The original box and paperwork are included.
