I have a 2024 Fender American 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster Reissue here. I do not have the original case or case candy, but I have matched it with a Fender soft case. I will post the factory specs at the bottom of the listing.
Condition wise, this guitar looks nice.
The body top shows a minimal amount of scattered superficial swirling, about the same intensity as light guitar pick strumming. There is no buildup or accumulated sheen to it, just little traces scattered here and there. The original film sticker sleeve protector has been left on the pickguard. I will leave you the pleasure of pulling that off when you want to. I did not find any singular marks or any notable play wear on the body top.
The body sides and edges look excellent across the perimeter. I did not find any bumps or indentations. There is a small amount of scattered surface swirling type play wear, but none that accumulates or builds up to form a pattern. There are no neck pocket cracks.
The body back shows some paint surface swirling and a little bit of superficial scuffing. This is not scratching or buckle rash. More so, the very outermost layer of the lacquer finish shows very faint superficial scuffs in a few spots. Overall, the bulk surface of the body back looks very clean and lustrous. There is no buckle rash, no worming, and I did not find any bumps, dings, or indentations.
The neck shaft contour looks and feels great. It is nice and smooth all the way up to the headstock, with one notable area to point out. On the shoulders of the lower headstock there is a little chip in the lacquer on each side. This commonly happens from a guitar being hung on a guitar hanger. See the last couple pictures for this. These finish chips have been sealed with a lacquer repair kit. Not custom shop perfect. But sealed to protect the wood as it is better long term for the neck for the wood to be sealed in.
The headstock itself is structurally stable with no issues. I did not find any other dings, bumps, or play wear on it. The frets, I am happy to report, are tall and full, showing no pits or divots. The setup plays nicely. It has a nice comfortable slinky action and plays beautifully.
The original electronics are working like they should, and the case I matched it with is in brand new condition.
So this one rates an 8.3/10 and grades as very good. That said, it is a lot more attractive than most guitars on this side of very good, as it is a recent era instrument and looks pretty much gorgeous, just as the pictures portray.
I found a couple chips to the finish on that shoulder portion of the headstock as mentioned, and that is really the only thing bringing it down from excellent to very good. So it is not an assortment of play wear or anything that uglifies the guitar. It is just those couple marks on the very sensitive lacquer finish, and that has been priced in. I really like the value to performance on this guitar. This is a really great Strat for the money.
This is in my opinion Fender's finest production model line. The AVRI reissue series. It's has an emphasis on traditional historic correct features and specs. Making it a pretty straight forward no frills no bells & whistles Strat, but done with the utmost quality of core ingredients. The highest quality tonewoods, tone metals for the hardware, old world lacquer nitro-cellulose finish. And custom wound pickups are used here.
It has a nice strong tone with very clear bell like cleans. The bridge, trem block and saddles i believe are steel, and this contributes beautiful overtones and coloration to the guitar voicing. It's really a great sounding Strat in all regards, whether you play with overdrive or want pristine cleans.
So overall this is a very good choice for a Strat. Short of the very expensive Fender Custom shop, an American Reissue Strat is the way to go. To my ears they have the most pure and musical tonality to them.
Note that this listing may come down at any time as I am a multi-platform seller and do sell locally and on my own Site as well in an effort to keep sales fluid. State sales tax will be charged on Reverb sales when applicable, so factor that into your purchase.
I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
Thank you for reading and considering!
