Roland RS-505 was Roland's flagship performance string machine/synthesizer in 1978-1981 (this particular unit is made in Nov. 1979). Similar to other proto-workstations of that era (ARP Quadra, Korg Trident, Yamaha SK-50), Roland RS-505 has three sections: bass, synth, and strings which can be mixed together and processed with chorus and vibrato. Sections can be output separately, and external sources can be processed with chorus too, so this synth can also be used as not-as-portable Dimension D. The bender panel provides same set of cool pitch/glide effects as VP-330.

This unit has undergone meticulous restoration in 2026, which included replacement of all electrolytic Matshushita capacitors, cleaning of sliders, potentiometers, switches and contacts, replacement of dust shields (crucial for older Rolands), tuning and calibration. Voltage is 100V, so a step down/up transformer might be needed for using it in your country. Video of a functional test will be made before shipping.

Import duties, taxes, customs fees are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Buyer will be responsible for handling any additional fees.
