Decolite is my custom drum brand using vintage hardware from the traps and swing eras. I aim to make fully giggable drums using the best parts of vintage drum engineering. Each kit is one of a kind.
This kit is a three-piece single tension drum set in small bop sizes, made with mixed vintage 3-ply shells. All tension rods, eyelet guide lugs and claws are from unknown 1900s European drum(s).
• 8x12: 1940s WFL shell, modern Gretsch maple hoops, 8 lugs
• 12x14 (14" diameter): 1930s Leedy & Strupe shell, modern Gretsch maple hoops, 5/16" stainless legs with modified Kent lugs for mounts. 8 lugs.
• 12x16: 1920s Ludwig & Ludwig snare with snare beds cut off. 10 lugs. Includes 1950s Walberg & Auge hoop clamp spurs and a custom made hoop clamp pedal lift.
All hardware is nickel plated except the floor tom legs which are stainless steel. Shells have most original holes plugged with 3-ply plugs and are painted white inside. All bearing edges have been cut to a roundover with a 45-degree inner cut. Finish is a black and gold two-tone with lacquer.
The shells have cosmetic blemishes and texturing as would be expected, particularly the rack tom shell. The hardware has been cleaned but not polished, and it has a very vintage patina and vibe.
The kit includes the bass drum lift, hoop clamp spurs, floor tom legs, a set of three vulcanized fiber hard cases and a handful of extra matching T-rods and claws (some of the extra claws have hairline cracks). Snare stand in photos is not included.
