The Marantz 2270 is a legendary solid-state stereophonic receiver produced between approximately 1971 and 1975. It is highly regarded by collectors for its "warm" analog sound, iconic blue-lit dial, and signature Gyro-Touch tuning wheel.

Market & Maintenance

  • Reliability: While built to last, original units often require "recapping" (replacing old electrolytic capacitors) and servicing of the phono preamp board to maintain optimal sound and safety.
  • Common Issues: Users may encounter scratchy controls (fixable with DeoxIT), burnt-out dial lamps (often replaced with cooler-running LEDs), or brittle vellum paper behind the dial that can turn the blue lights green over time.
