Cushmic Sounds is thrilled to offer on consignment this tasty piece of Rock n' Roll history in the form of this killer vintage USA made Schecter Telecaster-Style guitar owned by Alan Lancaster of Status Quo.
Best known as a founding member and bassist of rock legends Status Quo, Lancaster contributed to songwriting, and vocals on albums and live concerts, taking the lead on tracks such as "Backwater", "Is There A Better Way", "Bye Bye Johnny", "High Flyer" and "Roadhouse Blues" etc. Having formed the band in 1962 with schoolmate, Francis Rossi, his final performance as a full-time member of Status Quo was at Wembley Stadium on 13 July 1985 for the opening of Live Aid. Lancaster joined the original line-up of the band for reunion concerts in 2013 and 2014.
This Schecter originally belonged to Rick Parfitt from 1979 to 1985, when he swapped it for a Gibson EB3 bass guitar owned by Alan. It was used by Rick for various recordings, concerts, and loaned to Francis Rossi. It can be seen in YouTube clips with Status Quo appearing on Spanish tv's Aplauso with "Never Too Late" and "Something 'Bout You Baby I Like" in 1981 and with Bernie Frost in 1985 on "Jealousy" for British tv's Cheggers Plays Pop game show.

The guitar was also played extensively by John Brewster (The Angels) with Lancaster's Australian Supergroup The Party Boys on their first studio album. It can be seen in the videos for their No.1 single "He's Gonna Step On You Again" (1987) featuring John (Swanee) Swan, older brother of Jimmy Barnes on vocals and Kevin Borich (The Kevin Borich Express).

Lancaster also went on to form the short lived Australian Rock Band The Bombers in 1988 with Brewster, original Status Quo drummer John Coghlin and powerhouse vocalist Tyrone Coates.
