A rare vintage classic. The original Shure SM7, made in the USA from 1973-1984.
The SM7 was made in the USA for only 11 years and from that point on it has been assembled in Mexico. Given it's brief time being made in the USA collectors prefer it as it is much rarer then its Mexican successor.
The SM7 was made in the USA until Shure opened the Juarez Manufacturing Plant in Mexico, at which point it was assembled in Mexico from 1984. In 1999 the SM7A came out and it was assembled in Mexico as well until it was replaced by the SM7B in 2001 and from that date on it has always been assembled in Mexico.
Well used but still sounding great.
All hardware is working well. Threads are not stripped or stripping and tighten.
Grill is undamaged.
Dip switches are working well.
Preferred over the newer SM7B as it has a more rounded warmer sound.
Overall a great mic.
