Once in a lifetime feels thrown around a bit much, but it certainly seems unlikely that we'll ever see one of these again. Sometime in the 1980's, Ken Fisher from Trainwreck amps completed overhauled this 1973 Princeton Reverb into somewhat of a different animal.

Who knows what all he meant by the words "hot Rod" that he wrote on the back of the business card, but you can see from the shots of the chassis that there's some unusual stuff going on, and I can tell you this amp is articulate like no other Princeton of the era I've heard.

And of course, it breaks up beautifully as you move up the dial.

Even though I own several other nice things, this amp quickly became the studio favorite here.

Everything on the amp works exactly as it should, with the exception that the tremolo circuit was intentionally disconnected as part of the mod. The reverb works perfectly and sounds excellent.

It's hard to know how to price this appropriately, given the cost of real Trainwreck amps, but a Deluxe Reverb that Ken modded sold for 12k recently so that’s my basis for a starting point.
