Packing an enhanced version of the full-sized Tracker workflow in a smaller package, Polyend's Tracker Mini adds a built-in battery, microphone, stereo sampling, and a host of other highly welcomed features. And with a design that throws it back to the most iconic of retro handheld game systems, Tracker Mini feels comfy and familiar, but will allow you to push your music into totally new spaces.
With eight hours of battery life, Tracker Mini will last you an entire day out in the world, wherever you like to make music. Even better considering how it still boasts a vivid 5" LCD screen, so you can always keep an eye on what's happening in your projects. And since a single project on the Tracker Mini can have 48 instruments and 256 patterns with 128 steps each, there's a lot to keep track of!
Sonically speaking, the Tracker Mini boasts an enhanced audio engine compared to the original. Stereo sampling is a big highlight, but improved management of noise will ensure that your music sounds better than ever. The granular and wavetable synthesis engines remain fully intact, and while the FM Radio may be gone, the built-in microphone allows you to capture sounds in the moment, at any moment.
Tracker Mini comes pre-loaded with well over 4000 artist samples to get you started, but you can always add more by sampling things yourself or bringing them in via microSD. USB affords connectivity with your DAW, for both audio and MIDI purposes, and with TRS MIDI your other hardware pieces can get in on the fun too. Tracker Mini might be small, but it is certainly mighty, and it'll serve as a valuable companion on your musical travels.
