The Acme Audio Motown D.I. WB-3 encapsulates the essence of "The Detroit Sound," a hallmark of Motown's golden era. Originally designed in the early 1960s by a Motown audio engineer, this direct input box (DI) is famed for its distinct, colorful distortion that helped define the sound of iconic musicians like James Jamerson Sr., Dennis Coffey, and Bob Babbitt. The modern Motown D.I. WB-3 by Acme Audio faithfully recreates this legendary tone with contemporary enhancements.
Key Features
- Authentic Detroit Sound: Delivers the same distinctive, colorful distortion of the original Motown DI box, capturing the soul and essence of a generation's music.
- Modern Enhancements: Features improved variable attenuation for high-level inputs, ensuring compatibility with contemporary recording equipment.
- Rugged Construction: Custom-made with a rugged steel case for enhanced durability and longevity, differing from the original aluminum construction.

The Acme Audio Motown D.I. WB-3 is not just a piece of equipment; it's a portal to a bygone era of musical excellence, offering both the warmth of vintage sound and the precision of modern technology.
