This is the sound of the Fuzz Face and Orga Face used by Eric Johnson.
Compared to models using the BC108, this unit features a thicker midrange and a tonal character reminiscent of germanium-based fuzzes. It is highly versatile, allowing you to roll back the volume for clean tones, and it delivers exceptional sound when paired with a tube amp set to crunch or a distortion pedal.
The BC183L is famously associated with Eric Johnson, and this unit captures that signature thick, smooth, and long-sustaining tone beautifully; it is also easy to handle, as it does not self-oscillate even with the volume maxed out.
It features an aged finish, but there are no new scratches or damage.
