Fascinating Paiste 20” Traditional PROTOTYPE right here. It perfectly weaves between all those cataloged Traditional Rides of yesteryear but this particular PROTOTYPE has more complexity that the standard Traditionals.

It’s like a Dry Complex Traditional.

Medium Thin at 2250 grams with that Traditional “Light” warmth and responsiveness, but miraculously it has a semi-dry complex, organic stick attack with a broad spread. The wash is more complex and lively than the standard model - more organic overall.

That’s the beauty of this unique 20” PROTOTYPE: all the hallmark craftsmanship of the flagship Traditional Series but with a little something extra none the standard models provided.

It almost looks like Paiste added some 2002 Heavy Ride hammering to a Traditional - that’s the vibe. AND the bell is low profile but WIDE lathed. 

The profile of the plain dips down below the bell - like the Signature Rough Ride. Overall it’s a fairly low profile cymbal. 

Aged and mellowed and played for 20 years and you can see it, feel it and hear it.
