Sonor Early 80's Phonic Series Drum set 20" 8" 10" 12" 14" Genuine Rosewood

We have received a drum set from SONOR's iconic Phonic Series.

It features a beautiful brown-toned wood grain finish that exudes a distinctive presence. Years of aging have deepened the color, offering a unique vintage atmosphere that cannot be replicated by modern instruments.

The Phonic series is renowned for its highly rigid shells, robust hardware, and a sound characterized by a solid, punchy attack and rich low-end frequencies. While it delivers clear note definition and palpable sound pressure, it can also produce a thick, mellow vintage tone depending on how it is tuned.

This set boasts a unique configuration centered around a 20-inch bass drum, combined with 8", 10", and 12" toms and a 14" floor tom. The setup, featuring multiple shallow-depth toms, captures the classic vibe typical of SONOR drums from that era. The tonal range is well-balanced, making it adaptable to a wide variety of musical genres depending on the setup.

Its visual appeal is another major highlight. The beautiful wood grain combines with SONOR's signature large lugs and chrome hardware to create a kit that commands attention on stage.

The bass drum hoops have been swapped from the original steel versions to wood hoops. This change enhances the aesthetic—offering the look of wood hoops and a cohesive feel with the rest of the drum's wooden components—resulting in a kit with a truly evocative character. The mounting points for the internal mufflers have been covered with wood-grain decals, and the internal mufflers themselves have been removed from the 10" and 12" toms. Please note that some parts may have been modified or replaced.
