This is a very nice vintage Neumann M49b.
This multipattern tube microphone is a recording studio classic. It has a super rich warm sound, found in countless record of artists like Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Norah Jones, and even Taylor Swift. Aside from being a great vocal microphone, the M49 shines also on various instruments.

This particular M49 belongs to the revision b, a revision of the original model with improved BV11 output transformer with switchable impedance, higher output, lower noise floor. This microphone is very much original and the M7 capsule has been reskinned by the capsule master Mr. Siegfried Thiersch in Germany. The original owner of this microphone was Radio Lausanne, from Switzerland. The name of the radio is engraved on the backside of the microphone and the inventory number is engraved near the Neumann tag.

In the microphone all components are original to the microphone, including transformer, AC701k tube, capacitors, and resistors.

The original NN48 power supply was just serviced by The Mic Shop in Nashville. The original battery heater regulator leaked inside at some point, leaving some green stains on the circuit board. The power supply was completely recapped, calibrated, and received a new heater circuit board. It’s working like new. This is specially important when dealing with such delicate and expensive tube.

This set also comes with the original swivel mount and yoke mount, mic cable, output cable, power cable, microphone box, and a waterproof case. Everything in great shape and ready to be used.
