This handmade ukulele is crafted in Kyoto by Hideaki Urabe and his son, Naohiro. This particular instrument is a "Big Tenor" size, famously favored by ukulele player Ryo Nadoyama. It features a beautiful figured sycamore body, linden wood neck, rosewood bridge, white binding, abalone rosette, and Grover geared tuners. The headstock and top trim are adorned with abalone, giving it a striking appearance. The large body volume produces a full, airy sound. The neck shape is slightly thinner and easier to grip, characteristic of Urabe ukuleles, and the zero fret design makes playing in the lower positions exceptionally easy.
