The Taylor T5-C2 stands apart as one of Taylor's most ambitious hybrid instruments, a true acoustic-electric crossover built to bridge the gap between a resonant hollow-body acoustic and a genuinely playable electric guitar. The T5 series was Bob Taylor's answer to players who wanted both worlds in one instrument, without compromise on either.

This 2005 Custom example, serial number 20050913542, is finished in a stunning all-koa build with a deep, richly figured Natural Koa burst that darkens beautifully toward the edges. The semi-hollow chambered koa body pairs with an ebony fingerboard featuring Taylor's distinctive "wing" inlays, gold hardware throughout, and a sleek Venetian cutaway for full upper-fret access. The reverse-belly bridge and Taylor's proprietary five-way electronics (acoustic, hybrid, and full humbucker voicings) make this one of the most versatile instruments Taylor has ever produced.

The instrument presents in excellent condition, with the koa top, back, and sides showing vibrant, tight curl and even colour with no visible cracks, dents, or repairs across any of the photographed surfaces. The gloss finish shows clean, genuine reflections with no clouding or checking, and all gold hardware, tuners, and inlay work remain crisp and untarnished. A genuinely well cared for example.

Playability is a highlight of the T5 platform, the slim, fast neck profile and ebony board make this one of the more electric-feeling acoustics on the market, while the semi-hollow koa body delivers real acoustic resonance unplugged. Plugged in, the five-way pickup selector spans warm, woody acoustic tones through to a genuine humbucker voice suited to overdrive and lead work, genuinely two guitars in one.
